Class XI student accused in Pradyuman Thakur murder case retracts confession

It appears now that the class XI student accused in the shocking Ryan International school murder of a class II student has allegedly retracted his confession, Hindustan Times reported. The teen suspect has reportedly claimed that he was thrashed and forced to admit that he killed the 7-year-old boy Pradyuman. The ex suspect, a school bus conductor, Ashok, had made similar allegation against the Gurugram police.

As per the report, the 16-year-old juvenile suspect told a team assigned by the Juvenile Justice Board that “the investigating officials thrashed him and put their words in his mouth.”

The CBI officials had earlier said the boy had admitted to killing the class II student inside school’s toilet to postpone a test and parent-teacher meeting.

But in his fresh statement, the teen suspect said he “heard the screams of a boy and that is when he ran out and alerted the gardener and then a teacher regarding what he had witnessed.”

According to sources, the Juvenile suspect had explored different types of poison and ways to remove fingerprints from a knife that he had allegedly bought from a store in Sohna.

The sensational murder took a new turn last week when a standard XI student of the school was picked up from his residence in Sohna, by the CBI officials for the killing of Pradyuman Thakur. This student has been booked under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and was arrested by the CBI for questioning on Tuesday night after which he was arrested. He came under the CBI’s scanner after CCTV footage showed that the boy was inside the toilet with Pradyuman.

The CBI asserted that the teen admitted to his crime in presence of his father and that he had committed the crime to postpone the examination. It is said that the arrested student did not want to appear for a test that day and had discussed about avoiding it. He had also told to his classmates that the exam would be postponed, that they should not trouble themselves preparing for it.

According to a TOI report, the accused had known Pradyuman as two of them went to piano classes in the school. The accused called him to the washroom on the pretext of asking for a favour and slit his throat. As per CBI sources, the accused revealed to police horrific details of his crime. He said Pradyuman vomited blood after the first cut. The deeper cut was formed after the victim collapsed on the knife.
